A flickering heartbeat can often be seen on ultrasound. Tiny limb buds appear and the face begins to take shape with early eyes and ears.

Nausea and food aversions may peak. Breasts feel fuller; you may feel bloated and emotional.

  • Try ginger or vitamin B6 (ask your doctor) for nausea
  • Wear a supportive, comfy bra
  • Sip fluids through the day

  • Track symptoms for your doctor
  • Keep meals bland if nausea is bad

Can I see the heartbeat now?

Often yes on a transvaginal scan around 6 weeks, but a little later is also normal.

Are food aversions normal?

Very — strong smells and certain foods can suddenly feel off. Eat what stays down.
